What you’ll be doing

As a Trainee High Intensity CBT Therapist (HIT), you will work alongside a team of psychological wellbeing practitioners, counsellors and therapists, within a stepped-care model, to provide a range of NICE-approved interventions for common mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression.

There will be a mixture of homeworking, attending clinics within East Cheshire and attending lectures at Chester University. There are 4 positions available.

What we need from you

  • You will work within the NHS Talking Therapies (formally known as IAPT) service providing High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions to clients with Depression and Anxiety Disorders.
  • You will manage a varied caseload of clients.
  • You will work with clients to achieve their goals.
  • You will be enthusiastic and confident in working flexibly without close direction.
  • You will promote the service where needed to generate referrals.
  • You will support events within the community.
  • You will support the service to meet targets and outcomes.
  • You will need an enhanced level DBS check for this role.

 What we will offer you in return

  • An annual salary of £35,392 (NHS B6 entry fixed).
  • A 12 month, fixed term, full-time contract (37.5 hours per week).
  • 25 days holiday, and 30 once you’ve been here five years.
