BIN Co-ordinator – Sheffield

What you’ll be doing

 

As a co-ordinator within our Big Issue service, you will focus on working with the Sheffield team to provide a first-class service to vendors of The Big Issue North Trust. You will enable them to earn an income from selling the Big Issue Magazine, and support them to access a range of services which will help them change their lives.

Do you have the drive to help develop opportunities through social prescribing activities, partnership-working and signposting? Do you have an ability to communicate appropriately and develop challenging, motivational and positive relationships with vulnerable adults?

What we need from you

  • Experience of working with individuals (1-2-1) in different settings to help them achieve their goals.
  • Experience of working with a range of agencies and organisations to develop effective working relationships.
  • Experience in one or more of the following fields: homelessness, addiction, mental health, physical health, employment, social inclusion.
  • Ability to manage a varied and complex workload effectively.
  • Ability to deal with and de-escalate difficult situations in a calm manner.
  • Personal resilience and flexible attitude in the face of difficulties.
  • You will need an enhanced level DBS check for this role.

  • A permanent, full-time contract (35 hours) with an annual salary of £23,893 (NJC 6).
  • 25 days holiday, and 30 once you’ve been here five years.
