The Big Issue in the North was commissioned by Roma Matrix, to engage, recruit, train and support Roma women to enable them to act as health mediators within their own communities. The project aimed to increase their knowledge and awareness of local health services as well as improving understanding of the particular health needs of their community and how they could positively address those needs.
