The Big Life group has been recognised as one of the best places to work in the UK, based on feedback from colleagues.
Following a comprehensive staff survey, Big Life has been listed as 61st in the top 100 UK large companies, and 4th in Health and Social Care nationwide. The group has also earned the prestigious Best Companies Two-Star Accreditation, reflecting an “outstanding” commitment to employee engagement.
The survey measured how valued employees feel overall, their views on leadership, opportunities for growth, pay and benefits, and how well the organisation supports health and wellbeing.
When asked what makes Big Life a great workplace, the most common response was “Teams.” Staff repeatedly praised the group’s interdepartmental and collaborative approach, highlighting that sharing common goals with colleagues fosters a strong sense of unity and purpose. Employees also noted that working in a team-oriented environment not only boosts productivity but also makes them feel supported and valued, creating a culture where everyone collaborates to drive positive change.
Big Life’s commitment to personal and professional growth was another standout feature, with staff citing regular opportunities for training and development. Many employees appreciated that their managers are invested in their progress, helping them to advance in their roles and make a greater impact. Initiatives promoting work-life balance, mental health support, and open communication were also frequently mentioned as key reasons employees feel cared for and respected.
Fay Selvan, CEO of The Big Life group, said: “It is an honour to receive this accreditation and be officially recognised as a great place to work, and particularly as a top health and social care organisation. Our staff are the heart of Big Life, and their commitment to creating opportunities and inspiring change drives everything we do. Our focus now is to celebrate, and to continue our mission of helping people improve their lives.”
